Introduction

This project in its entire scope will create a fresh perspective on business and e-commerce. 

Every supermarket, mom and pop store, or e-merchants can use it. The goal of any company 

is, to save time, money and resources. This method and system of delivery gives all of its 

customers those options and more.

Small businesses will be able to open new districts and special order options internationally 

with the “UNIT” and temperature controlled delivery cases, software
capabilities and system functions. With growth in popularity the unit will allow all e-businesses 

large and small to have a more level playing field with respect to basic rules
of business (customer service, reliability and quality control).

This concept has much more to offer than just a swipe card secure system, elimination of 

signatures at a customer’s door is a basic function of the software. As orders are placed a 

signature portion of the set-up procedure registering each unit will contain the signature for 

resubmitting, comparison, and processing of an order. When delivered, the delivery company 

swipes signature pre-programmed card, loads box with cases and goes onto next delivery.

Thesis

The ability to conveniently and repeatedly receive goods, medicine, perishables, groceries, 

or items without being present for signing or receiving (appointment) creates
more quality time for families.

Software enabled secure method of delivering multiple temperature goods, thereby allowing 

e-commerce a more free flow with reduced complexity. Economically
empowering a company to speed processing times, as well as national viability in export and 

import revenues.

Argument

Creation of such a system will allow these points of importance to be clarified. Target markets 

include high and low income households, apartments, and offices.

Approx. 50,000 people of the baby boomer generation turn 60 years and older each day with 

92 million seniors in the US alone. This is statistic evidence that the unit can especially benefit 

many disabled and seniors.

National security measures will benefit through tracking accountability for each step of 

an order’s trip from A (e-merchant) to B (receiving end unit “e-commerce last mile issue”).

This product and system of delivery will greatly improve e-commerce and the delivery of perishable 

items, as well as increase e-commerce transactions indefinitely. Being a place to leave temperature 

controlled orders securely.

The unit is at the end of the journey for perishable foods and other items distributed by e-merchants 

with temperature controlled cases, designed to function with the system and all software involved.

When orders are made and verified paid for, by our server software and bank verification, the 

customer's delivery becomes the goal.

Coordination between e-merchant and delivery service takes place. Each transaction creates a 

series of delivery order prompts that are designed in steps for ease of use. 

{Secure Method} allowing prompt delivery by any restaurant, e-merchant, or distribution firm. 

It makes the delivery system much easier to deal with for the consumer. 

Client unit identification to server work together. The consumer is supplied with set chain of events 

programmed to occur in conjunction specifically with their unit.

What makes this concept unique?

The client does not need to be present, at home or office to receive orders. Freeing up time, 

saving money, and personal resources. Tracking of orders from points of product origin, to the 

home will be possible. Medications, dietary, and doctor’s monitoring programs, plus ongoing 

personalization or special need based software improvements will be optional.

Software provisions, USDA, CDC and/or other government health and safety regulatory 

agencies will have more ability to monitor protect and implement sector control both rural as

How it works

The key elements to operate the “Method & System of delivery via the internet” are very 

simple to the customer. Orders made directly from the merchant’s web site, internet, or by 

merchant’s phone order in some cases. Orders are securely processed via the method. 

Added to any web site on check out page. Using the service. A grocery store, distribution 

center, or any e-merchant, who uses this service will load the orders into individual temperature 

controlled perishable cases programmed by the system.

Approximate size of delivery case is 2.6 ft. length x 11 in. width x 2 ft. height. Designed to fit all 

units, up to 3 will fit at a time with tracking chip to locate stolen or miss-located orders. 

{Dry orders do not require the temperature controlled cases}.

The secure key card employs our proprietary method of authenticating the order, 

customer location, delivery logistics, unit verification, and providing secure access 

to the unit.

A terminal or podium stand produces SECURE KEY CARDS at each merchant’s location 

in conjunction with the order and server. Prints and programs each key card to correspond only 

with the unit at the address intended for that delivery. The key card which is attached to each order 

{delivery case, box, or package} works at only the customer’s unit address.

The encrypted type of KEY CARDS {disposable paper, plastic}, or {SMART CHIP CARD for 

secured, prepaid purchases} in special cases, have a short life of 6, 12 or up to 24 hours or 

special time limits on request, as needed for secure convenient delivery. SOFTWARE -

Tracking of manufactured or perishable items, distribution stops, and handlers during delivery. 

Minimal card re-use or recycling recommended.

Homeowner’s safety is priority. All delivery personnel to be screened or bonded with 

accountability by delivery firms and merchant contractors for national security measures.

Special consideration software, or possible additions:

A) Dietary tracking
B) Pharmaceutical, medicine deliveries
C) Federal authority, or police activation by special order through server center operators.
D) CDC (Center for Disease Control) tracking software capabilities of food born illness to 

be included, if needed to prevent terrorist acts, or for supporting homeland security measures.

The order is programmed by the customer through special series of pre-programmed 

A. B. C. questions, in simple steps - at time of order, to ensure proper procedure is followed.

From web link to customer, to secure server, to bank verification and percentage cost 

additions calculated to unit.

At time of delivery the key card is swiped, inserted, or passed through the unit’s card 

reader on the outer door of a home wall mounted pass through unit. Activating the 

electronic latch/lock to open for inserting the order, cases, restaurant ordered meals, 

or packages {much like a hotel lock}.

Each unit receives coded pre-programmed instructions from the server that correspond with 

the key card. The outer door is opened by an electronic lock/latch.

When the owner of the unit returns home to receive their orders.

The code pad on the inside door of the unit in the home, is opened by a programmed 

combination, to correspond with the code pad located on the inside door of the home unit. 

Designed specifically to keep children or unwanted guests from receiving orders, if needed.

The code pad on the inside door of the unit allows changeable combinations for the customer 

to retain safety.

Special instructions, or possible time frame constraints for order or case delivery to avoid 

overlapping orders {due to unit space allowances} will be available on web site.

Empty cases are retrieved by specialized company or picked up by “fetch order” for merchant.

Each individual merchant will lease quantities of temperature controlled cases, as needed.

Customization, operating software and encryption security measures will be contractual license 

to license, country by country, according to contractors needs. Variations in use will be matters 

of national and/or international security. All legal aspects of licensing subject to handling through 

myself the inventor Christopher Moudy and my patent attorney.

By using this system the customer is saving time, money and stress. Very beneficial to seniors, 

handicapped, and homebound people. Less commuting creates more family quality time and 

convenience for the customer.
